This blog now powered by Wordpress 2.6. If you have already install Wordpress 2.5 you can upgrade to Wordpress 2.6 easily. You’ll need 5 minutes to do it (with good internet connection).
Important: Before you do this action, please backup your blog databases first and deactive all plugins. Any risk is yours!!
There are six important steps to upgrade:
- Backup wp-content folder
- Delete wp-admin & wp-includes folder from your server.
- Upload new wp-admin & wp-includes to your server.
- Overwrite root files, such as wp-app.php
- Overwrite index.php in wp-content folder.
- Access to www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/ and confirm the update of database.
Then you’ll show error message like this picture below:

Click on “Create a Configuration File” then you’ll show a message like this picture below:

Click on “Let’s go!”, this action will allow you to create new configuration file for your blog.

Fill out this form with your current blog databases (your blog database before upgrade). For example: Database Name: yoursite_blog, User Name: yoursite_name, Password: yourpass dan keep default value on Database Host and Table Prefix (Doesn’t need to change). Then click on “Submit” and if you are correct, you’ll see a message like this picture bellow.

Click on “Run the install”. It’s mean you are already to install Wordpress 2.6.

Congratilation!! your old blog databases linked to Wordpress 2.6. Now, try to access your blog admin (example: http://yoursite/wp-admin/) and you’ll see upgrade message below.

Click on “Upgrade Wordpress” and you’ll see a message like this picture bellow:

Click on “Continue” and finish. Now your blog powered by Wordpress 2.6. Try to login to admin page and see the different.
